5. Keep Out of Reach of Children and Pets: Place candles in a location where children and pets cannot reach them. Educate your family about the dangers of playing with candles.
6. Avoid Drafts: Drafts can cause candles to burn unevenly and increase the risk of accidents. Place candles away from windows, fans, and air vents.
7. Extinguish Properly: Use a snuffer or a candle extinguisher to put out the flame instead of blowing it out, which can scatter hot wax and cause burns.
8. Check for Damage: Inspect candles for cracks, chipping, or other damage before use. Do not use damaged candles.
9. Be Prepared: Keep a fire extinguisher, baking soda, or a fire blanket on hand to quickly extinguish a fire if it occurs. Have a working smoke alarm in your home.
